Manage images on equipment

How to add images, choose the image shown in the equipment list and remove an old image, on the web and in the app.

When should I use this guide?

  • When you want to add an image to equipment.

  • When you want to change the image shown in the equipment list.

  • When you want to remove an old image after adding a new one.

Prerequisites

  • You are logged in to Infobric Equipment and can open the equipment.

  • You have an image to upload, or can take a photo using the camera in the app.

Adding a new image does not automatically remove images that you or a colleague have uploaded previously. You choose which image is the primary image, meaning the image shown in the equipment list. However, a default or category image may stop being shown once the equipment has its own images.

How to

On the web

Add an image

  1. Open the equipment page.

  2. Click the upload area below the images, labelled Drop images here.

  3. Select the image on your computer.

The image is uploaded and saved without an extra save button. You can also drag an image from your computer to the upload area.

Choose the primary image

  1. Hover over the custom uploaded image you want to show in the equipment list.

  2. Click the three dots on the image.

  3. Select Set as primary image.

The selected image is placed first. The other uploaded images are kept. The option is shown for custom uploaded images that are not already first.

Replace or remove an old image

First add the new image and choose it as the primary image by following the steps above. If you also want to remove the old image:

  1. Hover over the old uploaded image.

  2. Click the three dots on the image.

  3. Select Delete.

  4. Click Confirm in the Confirm delete dialog.

In the app

Add an image

  1. Open the equipment page.

  2. Swipe through the images at the top until the tile with the camera icon appears.

  3. Tap the camera icon.

  4. Select Take Photo… or Choose from Library… in the Add image to item menu.

  5. Take a photo or select an image from the library.

The image is uploaded in the background. No extra save button is needed.

Choose the primary image

  1. Tap an image to open the image viewer.

  2. Swipe to the custom uploaded image you want to show in the equipment list.

  3. Tap Edit.

  4. Select Select as primary image.

The selected image is placed first. The other uploaded images are kept. The option is shown for custom uploaded images that are not already first.

Replace or remove an old image

First add the new image and choose it as the primary image by following the steps above. If you also want to remove the old image:

  1. Open the old uploaded image in the image viewer.

  2. Tap Edit.

  3. Select Delete image.

  4. Tap Remove in the Are you sure you want to remove this image? confirmation.

If it does not work

First check that:

  • you have opened the current equipment page. You cannot manage images in a historical view on the web,

  • the image file is in JPEG, PNG or WEBP format if you are uploading on the web,

  • the app has permission to use the camera if you want to take a new photo.

If the option to choose a primary image is missing, open a custom uploaded image that is not already first. The menu options for custom images are not available on default or category images.

Tips!

  • If you only want to change the image in the equipment list, choosing a different primary image is enough. You do not need to remove the old one.

  • You can keep several custom images and choose which one is shown first.
