Learn how to find equipment, use search and filters, and read equipment details on the web and in the app.

Written by Thim Smedbrant

Common uses

  • Find a specific item of equipment and see where it is registered.

  • See which equipment is at a place or belongs there.

  • Check equipment details and understand the difference between Current place and Home place.

Requirements

You are logged in to Infobric Equipment and have access to the company.

The equipment, places and filters you see depend on your access and the company's settings. Place membership and departments can affect what is shown. If equipment does not appear in your list, this does not necessarily mean it is missing from the company.

Get started

On the web

Select Find equipment in the main menu. Here you can search for company-owned equipment.

In the admin view, you can also find company-owned equipment under Equipment → Owned. If you have access to Rented, you can find rented equipment there.

To start from a specific place, open the place and its Equipment view.

In the app

Tap Items in the bottom menu to open the company's equipment list.

To start from a place, tap Places and open the equipment list for that place.

What you can do to find equipment

On the web

Search and narrow down the list

Type in the Search company equipment... field. For example, you can search by description, brand, model, individual number or serial number.

Open Add filter to narrow down the results. Select Places to limit the search to selected places, or Users to find equipment linked to a specific user. Company administrators can also see Main responsible and Missing equipment, as well as Departments when the company uses departments. Free to book appears when the booking feature is enabled.

Your search applies together with your active filters. Use Reset filters to broaden the results.

Start from a place

In a place's equipment view, you can select:

  • In place: equipment registered at the place.

  • Lent: equipment that has this place as its home place but is registered at another place.

  • Belongs to this place: equipment that has this place as its home place, regardless of its current place.

These options are available in the place view. They are not the same as the Places filter in the company's list.

Open the equipment

Click the equipment's description to open its page. You can also open the row menu and select Open details.

In the app

Search and filter

Type in the Find equipment in the company field. For example, you can search by description, brand, model, individual number or serial number.

Tap Add Filter to select a filter, such as Users, Main responsible or Places. Under Ownership, you can select Company-owned or External. The menu also includes Missing equipment. Departments and Free to book appear when the corresponding feature is enabled.

Your search applies within the selected filter. Tap the cross next to the filter to remove it. Selecting another filter replaces the previous one.

Open the equipment

Tap the equipment in the list to open its page.

Read equipment details

In Overview, you can check details such as the description, identification details, quantity and linked user or main responsible person. The information entered and the sections shown vary depending on the equipment.

For company-owned equipment, it is particularly important to distinguish between:

  • Current place: the place where the equipment is registered.

  • Home place: the place where the equipment belongs.

These do not have to be the same. For example, equipment may belong to a storage place but be registered at a project. The home place therefore does not show where the equipment is currently located.

Tips!

  • Start from the company's equipment list if you do not know which place the equipment is at.

  • Check active filters if you get no results. Broaden the results before concluding that the equipment is missing.

  • Compare individual numbers or serial numbers when several items of equipment have similar descriptions.

  • Check that you have selected the right company. Contact the company's administrator if you cannot access a place or equipment you need to see.
